Heidi and I love spending time in the garden together. Heidi is a bee charmer, charming and eating bees every day in the summer in the flowers. She first stands near the blooming flowers and gets this funny calm look on her face and lets the bees buzz all around her head, then snap! She grabs a bee out of the air and spits it out to the ground, then rolls it around with her paw until it’s dead then munches her sweet snack. She is hardly ever stung, and when she is, she shakes her head, spit coming from her nostrils and mouth, then she rests a few minutes, and it’s back to chasing bee’s again. I have tried to stop her from being stung, but it never seems to hurt her for long and she is back to her craft. Heidi The Bee Charmer!
Well, as for me I like to wear my bee suit when I am working the bees. I don’t seem to have quite the charming powers that my Heidi has, but I help to get the job done. I have to give credit to Bill for being the most amazing bee keeper, harvesting gallons at a time. The honey is dark and delicious with pollen from Manzanita, buckbrush, wild mountain flowers, and lot’s of love. The bees are working hard in their hive to keep their queen warm. They are busy, healthy, and quite productive. You can say “They are busy as bees!”
Bill is the main beekeeper and is shown here tending a small hive. Thank you for the honey, “Honey!”
